Well it's day one of the new me and things have got off to quite a good start really!
Ok, I admit that i woke up in a foul mood as my lovely husband (Andy) pointed out that i'd not taken his work clothes out of the washer last night and were sat there in the drum, soaking wet, and he had to leave the house in 30 mins... panic stations. The cat, who was in a fighty bitey mood, had to be wrestled, captured and locked in the bedroom while i snook out of the back door to access our tumble drier which resides in the shed... oh the glamour! Any way, despite saving the day I wasn't amused by such a frantic start to the day... the ideal beginning of the day for me would be to be woken up by the radio an hour before I have to get up so that I can come round slowly and in my own time. I need time to wallow in comfort and warmth. I know i'm lazy...
Anyway, after getting over the stress of getting up at 7am, I made myself a bowl of porridge. My healthy start! My diet has begun.
I've done well this morning really. I had a mid morning snack of a packet of Salt and Vinegar Quavers that S at work had recommended to me (lush!) and then at lunchtime I went and did a shop at DSS (our nickname for our local Morrisons store as it's full of the unemployed or pensioners...) for a weeks worth of lunches. It was so much cheaper than going every day and being tempted by 2 for 1 offers and magazines that I really don't need. I should do this more often.
I stocked up on basic dieting essentials (for me these include, bagels, philadelphia light and waffer thin turkey ham, muller light yoghurts and some chunky soups). I didn't restock my usual supply of Diet Pepsi. I've decided that it's bad for me and should only be allowed as a treat... or maybe just 1 can a day instead of 4... eeek! S said that it probably rots your insides but I doubt this as it would have been in the news if that were true... wouldn't it? Hehehe... Besides, mine would have rotted away months ago if that were the case. People always bring up the story of the tooth rotting when kept in a glass of coke overnight but really, how often have you taken a swig of coke and then kept it in your mouth for 24 hours? Ok, i know that's a ridiculous thought but it was just one of my little ways of getting round the fact that what I was drinking was really probably not very good for my teeth and therefore making things alright. Enough of the lies. Pepsi/Coke are evil and it's water and Natural lemon juice only from now on!
Other things I plan to do today:
(This may be overkill but hey, whilst i'm in the mood I should act on this burst of positive energy... eeek!)
1. Email my CV round local opera companies to try and get some auditions. I need to get some more roles under my belt before September.
2. Call the gym and book myself in for a Body Pump Class (I really hate the name of this class)
3. Book a hair appointment as I've let it get too long and it looks like a wet weekend.
4. Get some work done... (hint taken!)
