Radio 4 Debate

I'm a big fan of Radio 4. I'm not ashamed to say it either. Andy got me in to it a while back. I know it's got no music on it but they have a lot of great topical debates, news programmes, THE ARCHERS (radio soap) and lots of great comedy & quiz shows.

One of the features that has been running for many years is "thought of the day" which is a daily morning slot of 15/20mins where they have someone commenting on life/society/issues and relating them to religious teachings and morals. It has come up for debate recently as people feel that it's too overtly religious and that they wanted to hear from some atheist speakers too and so, although they've decided not to change the format of the show, they've decided to broadcast an afternoonly Atheist based thought of the day... And what's better is that this is actually on at an hour when i'll actually be able to listen to it as opposed to the very early morning religious thought of the day.

Or you can view some of the thoughts of the public on this debate on the ipm blog along with the stations defence of the traditional morning thought format.
